Hello there. My little girl is 6 and she had a living donor transplant from her daddy when she was 18 months old. My husband was 53 at the time. They have lots of tests to prove their fitness and suitability. He was off work for about 7 weeks in total. Everything went fine and he recovered fully. His only niggle was that he couldn't stand the taste of beer for about a year after!! Personally I am convinced this is the body's way of recovering. Lilly is now well and at school and on a low dose of tacrolimus. I would recommend it to anyone as you have the control over when they are operated on and they can be well when it happen rather than waiting for a donor.

Hello. I've had tests and will be donating to my 5 year old son in July if no liver becomes available for him before then. Must take him to school now but let's keep in touch!
