NHS health check, blood test, medication?

After NHS health check and blood test, if the doctor wants you to consider taking medication for blood sugar and cholesterol with explanation on the medication and side effect "Should one consider taking medication as an insurance, like many other insurance we have for protection, for health protection ?"

I would want to know the figures and what degree of risk the doctor was talking about. My statins were prescribed by my Consultant. I had good reason to believe he knew what he was balancing. Plus I had just had a heart attack. I am very happy with my policy. Regards Rib

i would not take satain again after what it done to me i can hardley walk my muscle are wasting away and iam weak concider all opp.
