Does anyone have xanthoma? If so I would like to hear from you !
I don't currently but if I ate any fat I soon would.
I have a very rare condition called Lipoprotein Lipase Deficiency (LPLD) which means I don't produce the enzyme lipase which breaks down fat. The only treatment currently available is to maintain a very low fat diet. If I do eat fat it travels around in my bloodstream causing me to get xanthomas, stomach pains and pancreatitis. There are information sheets on the condition on the HEART UK website.
Yes i have had them only within 12 months they have gone they where on my elbows ,knees and my thighs at the back .
Do you have the problem ? I never had them around the eyes ,i have lots of info
Yes I have it. Lots of it. It was the reason I went for a cholesterol test (well once I'd googled painless orange lumps). What would you like to know?
I used to have them on my hands and also on my achilles tendons. I've had three operations to remove them. I still have one operation left for the second foot.
