Hi everyone. This is today's BRAINWORKS. You can use the clues to figure out the theme for the day and fill in the missing letters in each word. You can always ask questions anytime and take your time. There's no need to rush! This is for fun! :-)

Fill in the Blank

1. P __ L __ __ V __ R ( Goes near the head)

2. T __ R T __ E __ E __ K ( Named after an animal)

3. J __ M __ __ R ( Has leather straps)

4. V N __ C __ ( Near the end of the head)

5. P __ __ T S ( For legs)

Extra credit for the theme and everything else being 101% correct, as well. The turtleneck is a type of shirt. :-)

How are you doing today? :-)

in reply toActivity2004

I'm ok thanks. How are you Leah?

I'm so sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Things had been a little busier than usual for me today. Doing okay, though.:-)

Got up this morning and then had my usual breakfast and then a glass of pineapple juice on the side since the blood sugars were slightly lower then normal for me. Did better after that, though. :-)

What did you do today so far? :-)

in reply toActivity2004

I've been at work today but a little bit fed up with myself to be honest. I have no work to do, I don't know why. Had my operation on Thursday, took Friday off so not been in since Wednesday and there still wasn't anything for me to do. Kind of feel unneeded. Does that make sense?

It makes sense. Were your coworkers aware that you were going to come in today? Did they say that there was any phone messages waiting for you? You shouldn't feel unneeded. What did your boss say when you were there first thing?

in reply toActivity2004

They all new I was back today. My manager said to lock my laptop and if anything comes in, she will ring me.

What time did you have to be there?

in reply toActivity2004

I start work at 7am until 3pm usually, Monday to Friday.

Same schedule as a day nurse? :-)

in reply toActivity2004

I work for Bristol City Council in Admin & Business Support. Funny thing is I used to be a nurse before my accident at work.

I meant when you were a nurse. Sorry for the confusion. :-)

in reply toActivity2004

Sorry, I misunderstood. I did work mainly days although I had done some night shifts but in the main, days (06:45 - 14:45 or 13:00 - 21:00. I really do miss it, more than anything.

It's okay. No need to be sorry. :-) I miss working, too. Before COVID started, I was working almost every day every week, but with a day or two off every other week. The Seniors were use to it, but it took time for that to happen. Now, we can't go in until someone says something about reopening. Not sure when that will happen, though.

I know we have suffered in the UK but I feel for you in the states. You have had it very bad. I think, from what we see on this side of the pond, all of the individual states seem to work seperately rather than having a national approach, is that fair to say. Of course, you had a presidential election in the middle as well, which wouldn't have helped.

New Zealand seem to be doing well though.

Very fair. But, even with what had to be done, each State and County is trying to get everyone the vaccine as soon as possible. :-)

in reply toActivity2004

In the UK, when the Prime Minister announces a national lockdown it is the whole of England. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have devolved responsibility, but on the whole, they have pretty much followed each other. They are in regular contact with each other anyway. The Republic of Ireland is separate from the UK and are still a member of Europe, which thankfully we have left.

You do an amazing job on here, I think you are brilliant.
