can i claim anything please.

I goto my mums every day as she can not do housework washing or cooking as her sight is going also i have to be there to help her walk.so could i claim anything please.

Hi nannyj52 and welcome to the forum. I am sure other members will be along to support you and share their experiences. You could look into applying to claim carer's allowance [you would need to complete some application forms which are often available at your local Citizen's Advice, libraries or from Social Services/DWP. To claim carers allowance, a person must work 35 hours a week caring for someone and the person needs to be in receipt of benefits such as disability living allowance [DLA] at a certain rate or PIP [personal independence plan]. Please have a look at the pinned posts to the right of the screen under Carer's Allowance. You will find a lot of useful information here. You may also find it helpful to contact Royal National Institute For Blind People rnib.org.uk who may also be able to provide information and support. Best wishes.
