I am curious if there are C3GN patients that don’t have a low C3.
Since being dx’d with Sjogrens, back to maybe SLE (after a second opinion read on my biopsy at Brigham and Womens looking more like C3GN and not lupus nephritis)…can you have this disease with a normal C3? So far, I have had a slight low C4 and slight low C1Q but normal C3 and all have rebounded back to normal at this point.
I am awaiting my results from the Smith lab.
This is all very new to me and scary. Thank you.

Thank you again for your question on C3 levels. Here is the response from our Expert Panel:
"Approximately 30-40% of patients with C3G patients will have serum C3 levels in normal range, so the presence of a normal C3 level does not preclude the diagnosis, which can only be made by kidney biopsy."
