When your doctor gave you the diagnosis, what was your initial reaction?

My reaction was probably not the norm - I was relieved and hopeful. I was undiagnosed and misdiagnosed for so long. My family had suffered terribly, with no answers and no direction to look for help. For me, a diagnosis gave me a place to start and a reason to hope that maybe my story could have a different ending.
