Running durning a pandemic

I was able to finish my run today outside, and my hip didn’t bother me. I took two days rest from running, learned some new hip stretches, and figured I should start with a longer warm up for my next run. And that’s what I did for today!

After tomorrow’s rest day, I will try the first run of week 9 in order to get back on track.

Since the pandemic began, I started wearing a bandana face covering while running. It took a lot of failed attempts to find the folding trick right for my face. While it does restrict my breathing, it is manageable.

My neighbors are not wearing face masks outside. Nor are the walkers. People in my community aren’t social distancing. Landscapers don’t have PPE either. While it bothers me that no one else is wearing a mask, I can only control what I can control. I feel better wearing one knowing that I’m keeping myself safe.

That's great that you are running! I haven't been able to run for years! I had ataxia 20+ years

and although I was very athletic/active (down-hill skied, played tennis, etc.), I was slowly not able to run even before I was diagnosed with ataxia...,what's up with that?...,ha! My coordination is really compromised, as I use a rollator now. Oh well, it is what it is! Anyway, glad you're wearing a bandana and social-distancing! It not only keeps you safer, but others as well! I live in the USA, State of Michigan, and we have to stay home, as well as wear masks (or a bandana) if we go to the grocery store or pharmacy! I wear a homemade mask if my husband and I go for a walk too (I with my rollator, of course!). Stay safe..., ;o)

Thanks, February! Take care and stay safe!
