I would appreciate if others could share how they deal with regular lung bleeds. This morning it occurred again, around 10ml coughed up, but I did swallow some.
It seems to be every ten days or so and lasts a few days. The most was 60ml or so. Consultants say it’s just part of bronchiectasis for me. I was given Tranexamic acid by A and E to take as needed, but I never really know when that is.
I am afraid each time it happens in case it doesn’t stop, Its getting me down, I am afraid to move, cough, eat. Nighttime is difficult, I use an NIV, I don’t sleep much and my mind goes to fairly dark places.
So please any advice would be gratefully received.
Best wishes
Liz

I have just read your post with interest as I am suffering with coughing up blood.
I have an infection which is getting progressively worse. These incidents are worse at night when I lie down. So I am too scared to lie down now and have been trying to sleep sat up. It’s so hard to relax and actually sleep as these incidents cause me anxiety.
Did you manage to resolve the problem? I’m hoping that they can sort out this infection so the bleeding clears up. I really hope that you have found a way forward.
I was diagnosed with bronchiectasis 5 years ago but they think i have had it since 2005 following whooping cough. This is only my second infection so I’m trying to research the condition and figure out what I should do to prevent any further infections.
