I am active in the Bronchiectasis Tayside Support Group here in Tayside and would like to keep in touch with fellow sufferers elsewhere in the UK. I post comments and opinions regularly on Health Unlocked and am particularly interested in the history and progress of bronchiectasis as a chronic condition within respiratory health care. My username is Cateran, which historically described a Scottish outlaw and troublemaker, of sorts. Maybe you might think of this as an indication of the type of campaigning I believe in when necessary to stir things up within the complacent and uninformed NHS environs such as GP education about bronchiectasis, but decidedly within the law!

Hi Cateran,
I have moved to the north east of Scotland and interested to know what the hospital consultants in Dundee are like for Bronchiectasis.
Hi themadger and it is good to hear from you. I can assuredly tell you that in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, Professor James Chalmers is THE authority on bronchiectasis, and I am fortunate indeed to have him as my consultant. Although my BE is at a mild stage I always experience the kindest of personal attention and advice from this gentleman. My own interest in joining my Tayside BE support group of other bronch patients was inspired by Prof. Chalmers, who is a great communicator. His team of researchers and clinicians at Ninewells is first class.
If you PM me I would be glad to give you more details.
Congratulations Terry on your post as Adminisrator. I have just popped on to see if the site had improved and become more transparent and am pleased to see it has changed it’s name etc.
