Hi

Sorry to hear that. Is she under a team? Is she on liver drugs. I think providint there monitored they shouldnt be a problem but get bloods checked frequently as the liver is the largest internal organ and does up to 5oo jobs per day so it has quite a massive function to play. Its not like the appendix where i. Good luck

ts deemed as completely useless

Hello,

It really depends on what is causing the cysts - many members of my family have liver cysts related to polycystic kidney disease, and the cysts don't affect liver function at all - just make the liver bigger if they increase in number or size.

Good luck to you both - its hard to deal with a new diagnosis. Make a list of questions to take next time you see the doctor.

In my family the liver cysts are related to kidney cysts, but that isn't the case in everyone - have you read the information on liver cysts on the British Liver Trust's website? It sounds like you've been given this diagnosis without much support or information. Will your wife be having more tests or seeing a doctor again soon?

That's fine, happy to chat. You have a long wait - being in limbo is awful, you just don't know what to expect. Hopefully the fact that they don't feel that they need to see your wife urgently is good news - if they felt it was something serious they'd be fitting her in sooner hopefully.
