Goodmorning everybody,

So my husband has got worse and now I'm just waiting on results from an ultrasound scan,

His legs are so painful he really struggles to get around, we would like to sit out in the garden or just go out into the fresh air but can't walk that far, would anybody know where we can get a wheelchair? I have looked at buying one but they are to expensive on my budget, I asked his specialist but she just shrugged her shoulders and said she didn't know.

Any information would be really appreciated

TIA

👋 hi , Sorry to hear about hubby and his mobility, I struggle at times but use only walking sticks if needed.

Are you on Facebook at all ? My friend got a wheelchair for free on there ,they do a lot of things apparently I'm not on fb but many I know are .

Also have you tried British Red Cross at all ? .maybe ebay or gumtree ..

Sorry I couldn't be of much help

Best wishes linda x

Some charity shops have them from time to time or you could reach out on Facebook Marketplace etc. The cheapest to buy on Amazon is around £85.

If his mobility is worsening then it's possible to be referred to an NHS Wheelchair Service for assessement and possible help to obtain one.

I've managed to borrow one off family for my post transplant fatigued hubby.

Hope you get one.

I think the red Cross have wheel chairs to lend out. It will make such a difference for him being able to sit out side ❤ Also contact your local citizens beareau they will know if there is anything local. Some mobility shops can also lease you a wheelchair. Let us know how you get on xx

Hi, salvation army and age uk also hire out wheelchairs around here. But it may depend where you live. Occupational health might be a good place to start... they also might find other useful things for you around the house. A bit of fresh air makes us all feel a bit better. Good luck.

Just spotted you mentioned that Occupational health have been notified. Hope you get assessment soon. 🤞
