HiFinally got a diagnosis in plain medical language, not 'on the cusp of cirrhosis' or a broad statement of steatosis.
Liver stiffness of 8.8 kpa Cap of 329...This demonstrates F2 fibrosis and fatty liver disease. Mr R is aware of the lifestyle modifications...to address the quantity of fat situated in his liver.
All true I am now aware.
It also informed me that the fibroscan I had on 05/2019 10.9 kpa CAP 349 was 'suggestive' of F3 and fatty liver disease.
I was shown a laminated piece of paper and there was a mention of 'cirrhosis' in a letter but this is the first time I have actually received proper feedback in medical terms.
All of this happened because I spoke to a 'Hepatology Nurse Specialist' on the phone.
She arranged the fibro, she carried out the fibro, gave me immediate oral feedback and then wrote the letter.
F2 and 329 is not where I want to be; I am referred back to my GP with an ELF test required in 3 years. Note no mention of standard LFTs
The NHS at its best, quick, parsimonious action, that leads to saving me anxiety and the NHS saving money and time on dealing with more serious cases.
The ball is well and truly back in my half now, I intend to kick it out of the stadium!
