how accurate are the online calculators for fibrosis scoring, Fib4 index ,APRI , and others.

Each of these online fibrosis calculators has its own sensitivity and specificity. You can find information about this on the Internet if you wish. It is recommended to evaluate using several calculators at the same time to improve predictive accuracy. Their accuracy also depends on the degree of fibrosis. More accurate data in relation to cirrhosis. The lower the degree of fibrosis, the less accurate the calculated result.

so if all the different calculators come to the same conclusion would that be pretty accurate? I thanks for the reply

yes, it will be relatively accurate, but will never reach 100%

I would like to know this too! My doctor did the calculations to decide Wether to refer me for further testing, and because they all came back good they won't refer me. I would like at least a fibroscan but I think I will struggle especially with how the NHS is in the UK at the moment

I tried Fib 4 but have no figure for ast also platelets have been 198 260 goes up and down. was 229 and 260 with two tests on same blood!!

wow! That is crazy that the same blood could produce such different results in the platelets. Thanks for sharing that information

I’ve never heard of testing two different samples of the same blood. How did that come about?
