I have severe health anxiety. I had blood work in june and now I’m up again for the 6 month mark of blood work. It’s always disappointing the blood work is always out of range and discouraging. Luckily my scans have been good but my dr sticks a liver disease diagnosis on my chart with no explanation... currently my treatment plan includes 6 month blood work and an annual ultrasound. It works me up everytime. Thankfully it’s blood work and the scan will be done in the summer but it causes me so much anxiety.
nervous about upcoming blood work almo... - British Liver Trust
nervous about upcoming blood work almost to the point of just not doing it.
Hi there. Please don't stress yourself out about blood works etc. You really need to ask for a FULL AND DETAILED EXPLANATION from your Doctor or medical team regarding the outcome of your tests. They are the professionals and they need to set your mind at rest whatever the results. Please take care and all the best for a happy and healthy 2023. Regards.
thank you. I’ve usually either been in the office or on the phone for results of scans and blood work. They do go over it me but it’s just hard for me to believe nothings really wrong when everthing points to a horrible liver disease. Fatty liver I could deal with, it’s the other stuff that scares me
Same here, all the tests stress me untill I know the results. The problem is you DO have indications of liver disease and the scans are to rule out any sinister growths in your liver, they are not an indication of a perfect healthy liver!
In UK the scans are done 6 monthly.
If the scans show early indication of a problem there's a much better chance of it being sorted so keep worrying and carry on.
right. Even people with out elevation liver enzymes are not in the clear. So I get it. Right now I do not have a specific liver disease he changed my dx to unspecified elevated liver enzymes from liver injury. Hep A and pregnancy pre eclampsia (basically at the same time) So that’s what we “think” we’re dealing with… no fatty liver, yet but who knows it’s been a hell of a few years wouldn’t surprise me
