Hello! It could be a number of things really, you probably need to speak to a Doctor.Alarm bells would be possible onset of HE, or bleeds ( black stool or vomiting blood) but personally if its a change in symptoms I'd want to at least speak to someone clinical.
It could just be a bad day on the exhaustion front but safer to check.

Also could be if he's recently started on beta blockers for Portal Hypertension might just be taking time to get right dosage etc. But I'd still check it out
Have you got a blood sugar machine? If it’s severe, best thing to do would to get it checked out. He should of left hospital with a list of things that warrant immediate actions based on his symptoms and diagnosis, if he didn’t get one it may be worth asking his consultant to give you one next time you see them.
Orate Ubwa, it depends on which hospital for the information. I developed the symptoms and rang my liver nurse each time to determine what it was or if liver related. Local hospital not Leeds. Leeds would of probably told me to come in and run tests.
If only the NATIONAL health service had some consistency…🤔
I shudder to think what would happen if I phoned my local hospital at the mo, probably an automated message saying that the automated call diversion robot cannot take my call due to being too busy😂 (this was actually a thing last year…)
Well that’s all I can say is that they’ve just managed to get us through a pandemic without falling over and my care has been superb. There may be some admin frustrations but I wouldn’t be here today if it hadn’t been for my healthcare team. I did a very good job of creating work for them but they’ve treated me professionally and diligently throughout.
I don’t need to be told the cost to the NHS and how excellent the medical staff are, I live with a doctor and over half my family are in the medical profession. The guys that are the heroes are not the ones that run the admin systems…it is something I have professional experience with too.
You aren't the only one who’s life they saved 🙂
Hi rocky, hepatic encephalopathy can cause this but it usually comes with something else. Blood thinners can definitely warrant an effect. I once had a ear infection which enhanced the dizziness and lasted 7 days. I also had a blood pressure testing kit and would test myself when I stood up (if dizzy my blood pressure was low) but this was while being on beta blockers. My experience led to it just going away. Definitely confirm your husband's condition. All the best

Hi Rockyroo28, I can fully relate to dizziness. I was diagnosed with decompensated Cirrhosis sept 2020. As Ewife mentioned it could be a number of things. I am more off balance now which I can't explain. The doctors and my Liver consultant doesn't even know what's causing it. I was referred to ENT, they referred me to vestibular rehabilitation therepy, and a MRI scan on my head to check my inner ears and any nerve damage that maybe causing it, which I had last week. It drives me mad, I can deal with having Cirrhosis now but not walking like I am drunk!
It's a long and frustrating process, I would definitely call the doctors.
Best wishes 🌻
With any new symptom like this its always advisable to get it checked out. It may be just coincidence but as there are a few things that could cause it, its worth getting checked out just to be on the safe side.
Hi Rockyroo, I too have been suffering from dizzy spells and was diagnosed with Cirrhosis of the Liver last year. I have phoned my GP several times over this, I have seen two nurse practitioners with concerns over this and all they have done is given me medication to take which does not help my dizziness. I have also posted on here and got some positive feedback, but unfortunately, has not helped my dizziness. My BP is normal and my blood sugars are between 7.4 to 9.2 which is good for me. I am waiting to hear from my Liver consultant on this matter and will defo post on here what is said.
I have suffered dizziness for probably as long as I can remember, I'm 55 now. Best thing to do is stay calm rest and darkness. Plenty of ventilation. It can vary from slight movement of objects to full blown, as if a weight on one side will pull you over. It could be your BP, it could be problems with your neck affecting blood flow or it could be inner ear problems. I had it for years, no idea why. now it just comes and goes. See your GP, get it checked, if it is a new event and severe.
Hi!Just wondering - is he on diuretics by any chance?
I was on Spironolactone for a few months, and the dosage was increased for a while. I used to get dizziness from time to time. When I spoke to my consultant he said that dizziness was one of the side effects that came with the medication. He also mentioned that due to the amount of times I was visiting the toilet, I was probably becoming a little dehydrated and that can cause dizziness too.
Just a thought!
