Hi
Nobody here is a doctor, we are not allowed to comment in case we say no and you are jaundiced or we say yes and you are not jaundiced.
People can have jaundice without yellow eyes... people can have what looks like a yellow tinge without having jaundice and it cannot be identified by a photo (which are not allowed to be posted with requests for medical opinions).
If you are worried, you should see your doctor who will run some blood tests to confirm yes or no.
Dave.
Hi Sandro, I ask myself the same question most mornings when I’m doing my makeup! Having seen both parents very jaundiced at the end of their lives I think I’m safe to say that while we’re asking this question, we’re probably OK. Like Dave says, ask your doctor and go by the blood results.
Davy, what’s with everyone all of sudden asking if they have jaundice of the eyes? Any idea?
It's not a sudden thing, it's been happening for years.
In my personal opinion many of them (not all of course that's the tricky part) have Gilbert's Syndrome and have just an episode of increased bilirubin. Let's say (from my experience) from 2.5 mg/dl you can tell from eyes that they are slightly yellow if you look closer and you try to find it. I think some Gilbert's Syndrome open day should be organised with free genetic tests to confirm it. But just kidding it is needed only to exclude real/serious liver disease when only bilirubin level is abnormal (high).
NO !
