Hi

I’m looking into my liver pain v muscle pain.

I know the liver does not produce pain and it’s the causal bla bla bla But if you do get pain the liver region you dam well know about it and call it liver pain.

Can you tell me

Where you get it Front, back, side, ribs shoulder, waist, stomach area?

How often ? All the time, daily a few hours etc.

How long does it last minutes, days, months -continuing?

What helps/ hot press cold press, water, nothing.?

That kind of thing.

Thanks 🙏

I get pain too Right upper outer quadrant of my abdomen , occasionally feel it go through to my back .feels like a bad stitch .

I take codeine phosphate 60 mg , if after an hour The pain is still severe I can toke 1 or 2 Tramadol , if pain continues for a further hour with no improvement I am to call 999.

This was on the advice of my go.

Before this pill plan I self presented to A&E I was given IV morphine and the pain went and discharged home after 4 hours.

I have no idea what triggers the pain .

Has happened 5-6 times over past 2 years .

Last time paramedic gave oral morphine and waited with me to see if it worked , and it did .

When the sever pain goes my tummy usually feels a bit sore for 24 hours .

As you mentioned , the liver cannot cause the pain , I will always get the sever pain checked out as I. Worried the pain could be the start of pancreatitis .

Good luck x

I get the exact same thing but it only lasts for a minute or so and such is manageable.

This is always after eating something I know isn't good for my liver and if I didn't know better I'd say it was the liver in pain.

I guess the liver has the ability to hurt things around it to show it's not happy.

I do know it wouldn't be as manageable if my pain lasted as long as yours does, so glad you have a pain relieving plan x

I have liver pain all the time at the moment. It's been there for 3 months and is dull uncomfortable pain. I have another post about it. It's more like uncomfortable and on the right side. It's so scary, I have an apt with the docs to get some answers next Thursday.

Have you been diagnosed with any liver disease before?

Only fatty liver. I say only because they say I can help to change it Unfortunately the pain in my liver area is constant. Had 2-3 US and a CT scan Fib -4 dues not indicate fibroids so won’t do a fibro scan.

My pain is at waist level burning at times and stitch like at others.

I have had intermittent pains since last year. It can cover my rib cage , gallbladder, shoulder blade , and right hip. It feels swollen at times. Last year had an ultrasound say mild fatty liver but all tests have been negative since even though symptoms don’t go away. Fibroscan was 3.8kpa and cap was 245. Biopsy in January was negative for fat inflammation or scarring but had bile pigment. Only positive test was Gilbert’s syndrome but that doesn’t cause symptoms besides jaundice
