Anyone got any tips for helping with severe heartburn due to cirrhosis thanks

Hi , I have been prescribed omeprazole by my doctor and it’s really helped , I also on bad days have to take gavisgon liquid too . Best of luck it’s horrid having heartburn isn’t it .

Thanks for the tips - it’s for my mum bless her wasn’t sure if they would be able to give her something as already on so much medication - but that gives me hope she can take something. Take care xx

Hi my mum takes lanzaprozil for acid reflux I get hurtburn sometimes and take it 🤗it's not liver related tho I hope 🙄

I take omniprazol with my gp prescribes, but I find nexium works better. Check with your dietician. Some foods have to be avoided. Mine is OK now mostly but whilst on the steroids the indigestion pains were terrible. Good luck

Black tea with sugar. Neutralizes the acid in the stomach. Make it sweet though. Helps me everytime.

I was prescribed and took Omezaprol and it avoided me having heartburn . From the other comments I can see I was very fortunate.

You can take 8oz warm water with half a lemon juiced into it... It will turn alkaline instead of acidic.
