AST and ASL 100 after a week of drinking. Should I be worried? GGT 50. Stopped drinking altogether now.

Hello, welcome to the forum. Your test results indicate that the liver is unhappy. It is extremely good news that you have stopped drinking, hopefully your blood tests will improve as a result. It would be good to get them rechecked fairly soon. (Of course your dr should also check that the rise in results is not due to something else other than alcohol.)

Here is a link to our information on alcohol and liver disease and also what liver tests mean. The more knowledge you have the better you will able to avoid serious problems in the future.

Thank you. I appreciate the reply. Dr has done full bloods, waiting on other results my GGT was 55? Not overly sure what that means. But yes stopped drinking as I got a fright. Giving my body a well deserved rest and a good wake up call.
