Hi

What's the difference between NAFLD and NASH in terms of Fibroscan score. I had 9.8 kpa 4 years back and my doctor wrote NAFLD and now its 10.7 kpa and doctor wrote NASH.

As I know fibroscan cannot determinate between NAFLD and NASH. It shows stiffness of the liver which is correlated with fibrosis. Not sure but only biobsy can say if it is NAFLD or NASH. Maybe some blood test can be some clue in this matter but I am not sure.

Hiya, NASH can only be determined via a biopsy not fibroscan which only measures stiffness and fat content via CAP score. Getting the NHS to perform a biopsy is very difficult in my experience. Generally there is way too much guess work involved in liver diagnosis at present. If your liver stiffness is at this level you should perhaps ask about a biopsy.
