I attended this appointment on Wednesday the 19th. The consultant booked a fibroscan. He indicated that nothing points to decompensated cirrhosis at this stage.. My LFT's keep coming down and is close to what is termed a normal high.
They picked up on the fact that while working in nature conservation in Africa I had a fair few tropical diseases which all could cause damage to the liver.
With my recent urosepsis the kidneys and liver are not working well together, while the liver excrete proteins in the blood like it should, but the kidneys are excreting it in the urine, so a "perfect storm." This will require a renal specialist to find the cause.
Something is irritating the liver at this stage hopefully the cause will be found sooner than later.
All of you keep well and safe.
