Hi,
No one on the forum is medically qualified to advise you on steroid dosage. It is really important that your own doctors safely advise on this.
You may find our publication on AIH helpful to read;

Best wishes.
This should be a consultant led reduction not a GP. They need to know that your inflammation markers have sufficiently gone down before you taper and have you had discussions about the introduction of an immune suppressant as you taper.

Hi Jazzgirl80. May I ask you a couple of questions? Hope you don’t mind. My 20 year old son is having tests for possible AIH. How were you diagnosed? As my son has no symptoms and his blood was only flagged during routine tests for something else. We’re waiting for results and then I believe he’ll be on 30mg of prednisone. You say yours is being tapered down, does that mean you’re bloods are ok now? This AIH has so many levels. Are you able to live a ‘normal’ life? I think he’s going to find not drinking the hardest part as he loves going out 😞. I’m new to this and everyone seems to have it on a different level
