There's nothing anyone here can say to help until you have had a liver related diagnosis. So see if your scan shows up anything. In the meantime you can help your liver by not drinking any alcohol. Good luck !

Thank you, I have scared myself sick with worry, been off the booze for over 1 month but worried that I have done myself some damage over lockdown with drinking more than I should despite everything being normal so far. I read somewhere that the ELF test was only for NAFLD so I’m worried it could be alcohol related. I have a lot of symptoms of cirrhosis which have manifested themselves over the last month. Hopefully the ultrasound will give me some definitive answers
The problem is .... well just 1 of the many problems with alcohol is that it causes anxiety. So all the time you are drinking because you're in lockdown, or you've had a bad day, it has fooled you into believing it makes you feel better. But in reality it does the complete opposite ... as you are realising. So stay off it, see what the scan reveals then act accordingly. As with so many who post on here they are worrying themselves stupid when the only person who can fix both a potential fatty liver and/or their mental state is themselves.
The reason why I have regular blood tests, following my transplant, is to check that everything is working out well. So clearly they perform a vital role in checking out the well being of a patient. Be very reassured that yours are normal and you are booked in for an ultrasound to check that there is nothing else that may cause you any problems, at a future point.
Although any single test will have some limitations, my understanding is that the efficacy of the Enhanced Liver Fibrosis test is said to be good. It's predictive value has been assessed against other diagnostics including biopsy and it is increasingly well regarded. Including for ALD. I would only trust your Dr's assessment who will have a much better understanding of any concerns (if any at all) when your pending scan is viewed alongside your ELF test scores. Of course putting booze firmly in your past will only do great things for many aspects of your life /health.
The best person to answer that question is a doctor.
