Hi, Last week I had a Fibro Scan at the hospital and been told I have stage 4 liver disease . I’m still waiting on a call from the Gastro consultant to confirm the full extent but wanted to know if anyone is in the same situation or anyone who has any advise ? Xxx

Hi Natalie any idea what's caused this? Plenty of people on this forum who have experience of this.
Yes I’m an alcoholic but I have stopped drinking so hopefully won’t get worse. Just need to talk to the Gastro dr to confirm but the nurse has already told me the result of my test. I also have an eating disorder so I have not been looking after my body . I just don’t know what the outcome will be and what treatment they my offer me. Thank you
Hi and welcome,
Hopefully you will be given more information from your consultant regarding your diagnosis soon.
You may find our publication 'The Patient Charter' useful as it details the care you should expect to receive if you are diagnosed with a liver condition, and useful questions to ask your doctors;
As others have said, you've stopped drinking so thats the best thing you could have done. With regards to advice, dont see this as the end, just a different beginning, also don't be afraid to ask for help. i fell ill in 2017 and was told i didn't have long left, decomponsated etc.2and a half years on and im componsated, happy and living a pretty much normal life. You will be told to eat well and hopefully see a dietitian,the eating well is important to feed the liver so shout for help on that as well. Good luck and ask anything on here, this is a great place
Thank you so much, yes my head is a little all over the place but I’m now wanting to make the most of everyday. I’m eating as much veg and fruit and fish with brown rice etc and going for walks etc so fingers crossed. I’m just going to take any news I get from the dr as a blessing that I have found out now and make the most of it for as long as possible. I’m so happy for you now being compensated 😀
