Gilberts Syndrome / Autism

Having being recently diagnosed with GS and having watched some autism videos on YT, I just wondered if there is any connection.

I now suspect I may be on the Autism Spectrum at the age of 64,

Hi Klonk - Interesting question which I don’t know answer. Replying though because I’ve also recognised aspects of myself on ‘Autistic spectrum’ or ‘neuro divergent’ is another way of describing it I believe. I am in my early 60’s diagnosed with Gilbert’s a good 15 - 20 years ago. Realised I was ‘dyslexic’ when training to teach.I also understand ‘autistic symptoms ‘ to be common in people who like me have suffered long term emotional abuse - emotional neglect is included here. This can be so subtle it’s not ‘seen’ and as has never experienced enough emotional care or respect, I didn’t actually know what I had missed. Not sure if this will make sense to you or not but been my experience.
