Aches , pains and nausea . Hep C

I have seen a few posts from years ago with folks going thru the same ordeal as me. I was diagnosed with Hep C recently finished 3 mo of meds and feeling worse than before. My job includes pulling heavy loads and carts . I've experienced the pain under the rib cage and right shoulder blade also nausea. From what I had seen in the other posts drs aren't taking it seriously when patients report these things and that's what i going thru now to the point I was screaming at one the other day that I will be looking for new drs. Next thing I know he decided to give me another ultrasound going this Tues. Has anyone gone thru this and found any answers to what causes these symptoms and if there is a way to treat them. Cause I'm at that point where I would go back to these drs and tell them how to treat it or find new ones that will listen.

I had Hep C (treated with Zepatier and ribivirin) and was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver in late 2016. Your symptoms could be due to liver damage, and the u/s is that first step in diagnosing it. It could also be more benign, like muscle pain and/or heartburn.

We will be here for whatever comes, or feel free to pm me if you want.

Wishing you all the best! xx

I believe it's the liver damage but when I say that to the gastro treating me all I get is but my other patients don't to the point I told them I am not your other patients . I'm in the process of looking for new gastro cause i've had it with this one and my GP is next if she doesn't start doing something besides sending me to everyone else with my insurance I don't need her for referrals . After I said what I had to say last week to them both they both sent me for 2 different ultrasounds plus GP is doing rib xray and gastro did bloodwork . Going for ultrasounds and xray tomorrow waiting for bloodwork results after 9 tonight I have the lab send to me also. 6 yrs ago the one who I went to get a basic check up ran a ton of bloodwork and never did anything else even though she told me my ferritin was high since then when these drs checked my numbers had doubled. I'm curious to see what they will be after I get these results. Hematologist may be in my future too GP wanted me to go but gastro talked me out of it for the time being . There's a chance I may also have hereditary hemochromatosis which can cause this but I'm making sure I go to one that I can actually have a conversation with so looking to see if anyone knows one locally

Hopefully you will have some answers soon. In the meantime, get yourself a little notebook so you can jot down symptoms you are experiencing, along with the date, time and circumstances. It may help you rule out certain things or draw a line between this or that. Also jot down any questions you may have. This is one of the most difficult and stressful times, just getting a proper diagnosis. Treat yourself well and trust you know your own body. xx

Thank you . I actually have done that with the writing things down but usually at the end of day . I work at Amazon so stopping to write things down or even on a break really isn't an option. From the blood work that gastro did it looks like Hep C is gone the way i read it but waiting to hear from Dr. probably won't hear till he gets ultrasound results. He didn't order ferritin test so I may be asking GP to do so Iknow where my iron levels are. Hope all is well for you !

FYI I don't get my ferritin levels checked regularly, but I do know that Too Much Iron is constipating, and l am taking lactulose, which has the opposite effect anyway.
