I am brand new here. Have only recently been diagnosed with Fatty liver but not given any details or advice from GP only that I need another Scan and a further blood test have had blood test but am waiting for hospital to contact me regarding Scan.
I would like advice about diets or what to eat and what not to eat.
Also are there any medications that alleviate the flare ups I get,

Hi Mickycat, welcome to our merry band. Hopefully you'll find us a friendly and supportive bunch.
As your diagnosis isn't yet 100% confirmed treat the fatty liver side of things first. Sadly, it is the fastest rising cause of liver disease in the western world and has now overtaken alcohol as the main illness of the liver so you are not alone in discovering you have a fatty liver.
I'll point you towards the British Liver Trust page on Non Alcohol Related Fatty Liver Disease at:- britishlivertrust.org.uk/in... (hopefully you'll find guidance there to help you initially).
When it comes to you describing your condition as 'flaring' then I wonder what else is going on with your liver, is the fatty liver as a result of some other underlying thing - certainly some of the auto immune liver illnesses have flares of inflammation as a symptom. These other things should be assessed or followed up once you have your further blood tests and scans.
The BLT website also has a page on looking after yourself when you have liver disease which includes a section on diet, however, this will depend on what stage or condition your liver is in. Good healthy eating, exercise, low salt, low sugar would all be advisable until you know what is what.
Can I ask you to take a wee minute to read our community guidelines in the pinned posts.
I am sure you will get lots of support here and you can also call the nurse led helpline on 0800 652 7330 Mon-Fri 10am-3pm if you would like to chat further.
I see AyrshireK has linked you to the British Liver Trust information, which is a good place to start.
