Liver inflammation

Hello everyone I hope you are well in this hectic world 😔.

I jus an appointment by phone with my gastroenterology doctor. I have had Fibroscan in January and I was told that my liver came back to almost normal and is fibrosis instead of cirrosis. I was soo happy. I've developed cirrhosis because of an acute Hepatitis A two years ago(I never ever drinking alcohol)

Last month I've had an abdominal ecography(made by a very scared doctor because of all this Pandemic, and very nervous because I" wasn't an emergency "and why I was there...)

So, today I wasn't at the Hospital because I was told not to and my Gastroenterologist called me and asked me how much alcohol I drink because my liver is showing some inflammation. I have reminded her that I had the Hepatitis A and never was a drinker.. She told me to reduce the lactose when I eat and I must have another check on my liver in six months.

My question is why he Fibroscan can show a good results and ecography another? And, I have osteoporosis severa, osteoarthritis and I am supposed to drink milk and consume milk product and now I do not know what to do...

My bones tell me to consume milk and my liver tell me to not.. Which one to listen!?

😔

Good afternoon,

This is very confusing, you are receiving conflicting messages. I really think you need to get clarification from your liver team as to why they think there is some inflammation in your liver and why reducing lactose intake would improve this. You may also want to ask why there appears to be a discrepancy between your liver scan results.

It is of course possible to get lactose free milk etc but before changing your diet in any way you need to get your situation clarified.

regards
