Hi all. First post here.
Just wondering, with liver disease would pale stool colour come and go or would it stay constantly pale?
The same for urine. Would it be dark all of the time or can you go clear if you drink lots. Thanks in advance.

Hi Chris, both things are variable so if you have any concerns at all that you might have something going on with your liver then please go and see your GP. Explain your concerns and any symptoms and they should organize some tests for you. Dark coloured urine and pale coloured stools are both potential symptoms of bile duct issues and bilirubin levels.
Go and see your GP and get basic tests first to see if they indicate any issues.
Best wishes,
Katie
Hi Katie. Thank you for your reply. I was diagnosed with fatty liver. I’m not 100% certain if it was through diet or alcohol. I drank too much but I also ate too much. I’ve lost a lot of weight since then though. My ultrasound diagnosed this and I remember the doc saying the liver was smooth. The ultrasound also picked up gallstones with sludge.
If you haven't seen it already the British Liver Trust has a good page all about Non-Alcohol Related Fatty Liver disease with good advice on living more healthily. In both cases either Alcohol Related and Non-Alcohol related the advice should be pretty much the same and even with NAFLD you should quit the drink as it will only continue to exacerbate any damage. With a diagnosis already then you pretty much know why you are having any changes in urine and stool colour. Healthy living from here on in and you should be able to reverse any liver damage. britishlivertrust.org.uk/li...
All the best, Katie
