Hi just wondering if anyone has had same problem and if so what happens next?
So went in with my mum as she was going to be drained on Friday, they tried both sides of lower tummy but could not find the pocket of water to drain. She’s now due to go back in for scan Tuesday. She’s on 280mg water tablets and they are now concerned about kidneys, no talk of coming off, changing tablets, she’s getting bigger by the day, what can they do if they can’t get drain in? Thanku for reading x

It happened to me a few times I ended up going in for a procedure to get a drain in... Don't panic they will do it I had 3 drains going at once because I had different pockets of water 😊
Oh ok, perhaps that what they will do Tuesday, may find out more then. Thanku
That seems really strange, but, (here we go that three letter word that can put the fear of god into you) BUT, they did have difficulty draining me in Southampton General Hospital once, turned out to be a newly qualified Doc not sure of himself and didn't want to puncture my bowel, so this could be the case with your mother, better safe than sorry as they say, someone on here was talking about a device that they now have that can be fitted that pumps fluid from the abdomen to the bladder, it may of been on your posts?
Thanku ,Yes the talk of pump being fitted was on my post,, they did say they were frightened of causing more damage hence why I think they have asked for a scan to see where abouts the best place to enter with drain.
Mums finding walking increasingly painful with the build up of water in her legs, they said draining her won’t make no difference to her legs only the tummy area and with the tablets not seem to be working it seems that’s there’s not a lot to be done for the legs.
