Are you sure it has alcohol in it?

If it does you could always try a patch test by doing one nail.

Hi Dako. There is no ethanol in nail polish, they use another solvent ethyl ethanoate. Even if there was you wouldn't absorb it through your skin

I'd have thought it would be fine - the nails aren't porous, or at least not in any meaningful way, and if it makes you feel better that's got to be good.

Test it on one finger first and see how it goes.

Good luck with your challenges and am sure there will be a brighter future.

If it contains any alcohol, then I would say no.

Can I ask how you’re finding antabuse, please? I asked for it but was prescribed Campral which reduces, very effectively for me, the urge to drink. My GP was very worried about prescribing Antabuse due to the side effects which apparently can strike if using alcohol hand cleanser or after shave. If Campral ever stops working for me, I’ll ask again for Antabuse, but it would help me and others to read how someone has got on with this drug.
