Frustration

Sometimes it not the major diagnosis you have that bothers you, it’s the extra smaller illnesses that get you emotionally. I had a flare up of hand pain yesterday and couldn’t drive without pain or wipe my ass or hold my mums hand or look in my bag for the car keys I thought I lost in tescos. I left them in the ignition derr. Could of cried right there and then.

Gosh yes. I am post transplant and have a permanent UIT as a result of my time in hospital. I get you completely and at times find it difficult, tears and all, but I fear my love it is the unspoken problem when you have a chronic health problem - or solution, like a new liver!

Agreed. " comorbidities" of a disease are the ones that are so hard to cope with

I can empathise with you. Other people wouldn't realise all the other small, yet painful, embarrassing, exhausting and scary things we have to cope with on a daily basis. Luckily all of us on this forum do understand and send lovely messages to everyone who needs a shoulder to cry on. Take care. Deb 💓

Both Deb and I have a lot of experience relating to other conditions, not liver related . We had a conversation earlier about us both having fibromialgia, had surgery for carpal tunnel in both hands, and many more muscular skeletal problems. Of course we see liver disease as no 1 concern because it is such a complex organ. Fibro causes pain from hell at times, In my ribs too.It feels like I have done 10 rounds with Tyson! Like you before I had surgery on my hands it was a nightmare. I couldnt even eat a meal, had to keep dropping my hands to restore feeling. I was constantly woken with dead hands too. The only way I could use my right hand was to focus and send conscious messages. ie hand open, hand close, grip cup etc. I was forever dropping stuff cups of coffee and cream carpets just dont go. I was fortunate I saw a Physio practitioner, she was 100% right on everything she suspected. She referred me for tests and to a surgeon. Left elbow and right shoulder needed General , but carpal Tunnel was local , but done in theatre. The little things make a huge difference, I cried in sheer frustration at times. If you dont ask you dont get. No 2 people are the same but Deb and I have so much in common, not liver related .Hazelx

Not sure what this is I’ve had it 2 years but have today had a medical for work so will leave it a month and then go to gp about it. It’s annoying and I know life could be a lot worse but on those days there is a last straw, ahhhhh
