Blood in urine ?.

Has anyone here suffered with passing blood in their urine ?. H spent the weekend before last in hospital because hed been passing blood for a few days it got a lot worse so I dragged him to docs who sent us to hospital. He had a catheter fitted, his bladder "washed" bladder scan and full ct scan . Went in Fri and came home Monday. Only they didn't know why he was losing blood or why so much and on release all they said was if it gets bad again or he starts losing significant clots to go back . Hes still bleeding ,and not telling me how bad it really is tho I'm not blind , in himself hes really well but I guess I'm wondering is this another symptom or something else to be investigated. we re waiting for an app for a cystoscopy.

Hi VickyB56

We are sorry no one has replied to your post. If your partner is losing blood in their urine it is very important to get clinical advice and have further investigations such as a cystoscopy to find out the cause.

If he continues to bleed and you are concerned then we would suggest you consider taking him directly to the GP and/or straight in to hospital.

Very best wishes

It's hard to say for certain what the cause is. Really severe bladder infections can cause this. Is the urine pink or is it full on red?

Well the hospital have said they don't know what's causing it , could be urine infection ,prostrate or kidney stones . I just wondered if anyone else had had it if it was anyway connected to his liver problems but looks like it's a new thing to deal with. Hes now got a catheter in for next two weeks. Seems they rinse his bladder out at hosp and within a few hours it's back to how it was. It's really dark red blood , clots as well , . But thanks for your reply.
