Since being diagnosed with cirrhosis 4 years ago I have continued to take my meds for my bipolar disorder and anxiety. My liver enzymes are at an acceptable level, but I worry about the long term affect they might have. I know that I need them, in part because my cirrhosis is due to alcoholism, and they help with my sobriety. Also, I am aware of what life can be like without them. Does anyone else have this concern, or possibly change medications when you were diagnosed? Some of the meds I take specifically say not to take with liver damage, but my doctors say it is ok. Seems to be ok so far, but it still makes me nervous. They say I can take low dose Tylenol, but 4 years in and I still will not. Just wanted to hear what anyone out there might be doing if dealing with both of these issues.
Thanks,
Jennifer

I was told it was ok to take anxiety meds and low dose of tylenol. I need the anxiety meds. Helps me not want to drink. I'm 2 years. I get nervous too. You're not alone.
Congratulations on 2 years! It does help to know I'm not alone and someone else is doing good on similar meds. Staying sober is important now more than ever. Best wishes.
