Hi all. I have joined this group for hopefully some support. I have had Thrombocytopenia for a few years but now I have an enlarged spleen and cirrhotic liver. A bone marrow test caused an enormous haematoma which kept me in hospital for 4 days. I do not drink alcohol at all and haven’t for years because I don’t like it. I cannot get any sense out of the specialist who cannot find a cause and thus no treatment. Meanwhile I feel ill all the time. I have had every test under the sun. What is next? I live alone now so there is no-one to lean on. I am not really a miserable old devil but it is hard to keep the spirits up. I am 70 years old but young at heart.

Have you been tested for alpha 1 anti trypsin deficiency?

Are you seeing a hepatologist?

What area do you live in?

Serum Gamma only slightly raised.(47)

Am in process of changing consultants because the hospital where I get seen is a long distance away. So that won’t help 😏

I don't know anything about your condition, sorry. But I do know the frustration of trying to find out what has caused my cirrhosis (non drinker) and getting the appropriate treatment. It must be difficult having to deal with this on your own but there's always someone to talk to on this forum. Take care. Deb 💓
