Hi all. After some advise. Husband diagnosed cirhosis of liver and varices vein bleed. But has never had a bleed. This was back in January admitted into hospital with jaundice low white cells. His bloods keeps showing low blood count. A doctor called Saturday out of office doctors saying his white blood cells low but had no notes on him. If he felt unwell straight to A&E. Any one help on this it seems the medical team don’t talk to one another.

Low white cell count
I suffer with very low white cells if they are below 55 they have to let you know. Mine stay around the 37-40 mark you just have to look out for bruising and careful not to know yourself. Google low white cell count and it should show the type of bruising for you to look out for xx
Thank you this is useful. It’s a worry and I think out of office doctor has to call but can’t see his records and doesn’t know his condition. Any supplements or food that can increase the count?
Unfortunately not that’s what I searched for xx
Hi. I have cirhosis and a low white cell count, sometimes as low as 30. My consultant says it's related to an enlarged spleen which overly destroys them and hoards them. One interesting thing to note is that clotting time and white cell count are not directly hand in hand. When I have my bloods done they also do a clotting time which is better reading than a white cell count on its own.
whitelock, Have a look online into papaya tea. Always check with the professionals before trying things but threre have been good results with raising white cell counts with papaya and it,s natural. check with Doc first. best wishes. mb.
