Were you sedated

Hi, I've had a few and the first one was the worst for pain. They pump a reasonable amount of air into you in order to better see what they are doing and this can give you a lot of pain, (due to the trapped wind) which does require painkillers- although the hospital didn't tell me this!! You will also more than likely have problems swallowing your food, so make sure you have soft foods to eat, until the scarring has died down (usually about a week). Never been sick with it, so I would contact the hospital if I were you and ask what they recommend, as being sick is really not going to help the healing process.

The very best of luck, I feel for you as the pain is very unpleasant, but I did find codeine helpful. At the very least phone 111 and get some advice. :)

Wow. Yes I had banding done. Throat was only sore for 2 or 3 days after, thankfully. (I felt sick wayyyyy before the banding procedure-) used to vomit everyday, due to vodka showing my breakfast who was boss... even after I stopped drinking, but much better now. Worth it-

Lucky you (duration of throat soreness, relatively speaking) !!! Glad to hear that you have given up the demon drink and that you are much better now. Never understood vodka drinking myself- no taste, would much rather have a Pernod or something with flavour!!!
