Cirrhosis and me.

Hi all been on here a few times as bluemoon 1,got a new fangle dangel tablet,more confusion for me,lol.Well here as bluemoon 2,1 or 2 it'l be me,still stable with my cirrhosis,gone from decomp to comp off transplant list,just suffer with mild encepolopathy,ataxia,peripheral neuropathy, swelling of legs and that god awful itch,well thats me sorry to bore and sound a pain,hey I keep on smiling 5yrs without alcohol now.

Same here. Well, only 19 months sober for me. Is your ataxia Wernicke's encephalopathy?

Am I right in thinking wernickes can be hereditary where as mine is due to alcohol,I know my frontal lobe took a beating when I was withdrawing.

I think they are both hereditary or alcohol related. Mine was due to alcohol. I fried a bit of my brain at the back close to the spine that affects my gait and balance. They call it the drunk disease over here. Vitamin B1 and my walker helps me every day. There is still no known cure for it but overdosing on B1 every day seems to stop it getting any worse.

Yeh understand medical term here is ataxia,I have a bad gait and shuffel,if I turn quick I lose balance which normally means I end up falling over,great fun.

Cheers forgot about the insomnia lol,thats the encepalopathy heres one circulation not to good either suffering a leg ulcer of 2 years now,nasty.
