I have been diagnosed with HCV Genotype 3a and have a fibroscan reading of 10.8. Not sure whether the reading is seriously high or not and is Genotype 3a common. Can anybody help please. It would be much appreciated.

i had geno type 3 im not sure about the a as it was years ago. i got the old treatement of ribavarin and interferon for a period of 6 months as geno type 3 was one of the easier genotypes clear.im still clear of it and i had many other illness's that were caused by the hep c. cryoglobulinemia and rheumatoid arthritis, which have all cleared up when the hep c cleared. dont worry as it is very common and not a difficult one to clear.you will get more answers here on this link. healthunlocked.com/hepatiti...

Thank you so much for your quick response. I am really worried about all of this and, as you say, other problems seem to come into the equation. They say they are going to treat me with the new drugs but it will be in priority patient order. Thanks again for your response and the link. So so pleased you are clear of the virus - keep smiling hey.
