Leg / Muscle Weakness after Drinking?

While I had never been a large drinker (two martinis over a long dinner would have been a 'big night' for me at my peak), and I've now not had a single drink for several years, after my LFTs started testing abnormally, I was wondering if others ever had a similar experience to this...

On multiple occasions, after a night when I would have 2 drinks (and frequently correlated with evenings with large/heavier meals), I would wake the next morning with extreme muscle aching and weakness in my legs. It would be an odd throbbing. On some occasions, I was so weak that I could not stand, literally falling to the ground when I got out of bed. The symptoms would last for about half of the day. My doctors were baffled by the description, offering only "probably best to just cut alcohol completely", as if it were almost an allergic response. But given the liver impact, I was wondering if it could have been more. It's never happened since I stopped drinking, so the correlation seems pretty established.

Anyone?
