My husband has been unwell with a pain in his stomach and feelings of exhaustion and after visiting the doctor yesterday was told he has a displaced liver and is being sent for a scan. The doctor seemed to think the liver may have been displaced by his lungs. Finding this very worrying. He is 72 and takes medication for epilepsy, high blood pressure and high colestral. He is also on warfarin and has a pacemaker. Any ideas

Hi, sorry I've not come across this before, however I'm assuming the gp came to this conclusion by palpating the abdomen - ie 'feeling' his tummy?? Its possible the Dr is feeling an enlarged liver rather than displaced. Unless your partner is super skinny I think it would be very difficult to diagnose anything from such an examination. Its good that they are organising a scan, as that will give more answers, or suggest need for further investigation. I hope he has luck with that, and stays well.

Try not to worry about it for now, this could just be an incidental finding which isn't significant at all. Also try to avoid googling stuff, that just creates anxiety and is rarely useful.

Best wishes

E
