Do you have to be referred for second opinion to another hospital by consultant or can you e mail the hospital directly asking for appt not happy with my husbands consultant so want to see if we can get appt at birmingham we are in liverpool. Any advice wecome

When I changed hospitals I had the GP sort it out. He gave me a username and password and I booked my own appointment online with the new consultant (choose and book).

This was a few years ago though so it may have changed...worth a quick call to your GP though.
