I had reoccurring hepatitis A for a good part of a year. I was in kings liver unit. That was 27 years ago. Since then my liver levels have been up and down. But this is the highest it’s been. Gt 245 and ALT 100. First thing gp asked was alcohol. I rarely drink. Had a bit more at Xmas but nothing to do this. I think it was that types of food I was eating fatty.
I am worried as I am in a lot of pain and my vowel movements are light in colour. I feel sick all the time.
For the last month I have changed my diet and no alcohol at all but the pain is getting worse. I haven’t got jaundice.
I am seeing gp today. I am asking for a referral to Kings Hepatology as I don’t want to take the chance.
I think it maybe the HRT gel they is also a contributor. Also type 2 diabetic.
I have started taking milk thistle and homeopathic remedy.

You should not take milk thistle or any herbal remedies.it is not recommended for liver patients to do so.you need to find out exactly what the problem is.
Hope your GP gives you a referral and you can get the answers that you are looking for.
Glad you are taking active steps to give your liver a chance to keep healthy, a good varied diet and no alcohol is always a good start. Don't forget the regular exercise, although from what you have said, you might not feel very keen on anything too vigorous - do what you can.
Further to what freddie has already said, you have to be extremely cautious with any alternative meds / supplements. The British Liver Trust position is on their website and you should read this first before deciding what you should be taking.
