Hi everyone. My mother has had more than a few bandings in the esophagus. She'd like to know what would be the symptoms that indicate she'd vomit blood all over again?

She should keep a look out for any blood in her stool, especially if her stool where to become black and tarry. That would indicate bleeding perhaps before vomitting it.
My hubbie was seeing a bit of blood in his bowel motions a week or more before he vomitted blood and he was found to have 7 burst varices - a life threatening bleed. He never had any other symptoms & unfortunately we never even knew he had liver disease at that stage. He has gone on to have 42 varices banded and his are now eradicated.
Any sign of blood in toilet is an emergency and is worthy of a trip to A&E.

I have had two bleeds - felt nauseous, felt very hot then very very cold sweats - then the explosion
As Katie said, easiest symptom to spot is the black, tarry stools. To be clearer, tarry means that they stick like glue to your bottom!! Sorry to be so graphic. Feeling light-headed and exhausted after doing very little may indicate internal bleeding is already occurring too. Hope this helps. All the very best to you and your mother
Thank you!
