Hi Debski that's very good news i also have liver cancer and was due to have an embolism and was got all ready on the table then the doctor looked at my latest blood results and he said he was abandoning the procedure because the results show my liver was almost at failure but i said it was the lanreotide that caused the bad results he said it was a coincidence no other treatments are available to me on the N H S I can't have chemotherapy because of other health problems I also have only 1 lung after lung cancer years ago and the cells from 30 years ago have gone to my liver just been back to the hospital and was told no other treatment is a available at my blood results for my liver are now back to normal and found out it was the injection of lanreotide that my body rejected that's why it was cancelled but now all is OK the doctor will still not do the procedure because my liver has gone up into the cavity whereally the lung used to be there is a type of treatment but it's only available if you pay for it and that's out of the question anyway let's hope your husband progresses more and his liver mends itself back to normal best of luck mickmm

The whole purpose of embolisation is to cut off the blood supply to a tumour. Thus effectively killing it because without blood it cannot survive. I am going into hospital for embolisation #9 first week of December after having a transplant aborted due to a major haemorrhage. The fact that your husband has remained on the list is possibly indicative of a recuurance at sometime in the future. The positive side of embolisation is that they will only do the procedure if you are well enough to cope with it. As I have been removed from the list and was told that embolisation was no longer an option and I would live as long as my liver lasted, I am only too happy to utilise embolisation as part of my liver management. So I went from imminent death in ICU, to being told I would not leave the hospital alive, to still being here after a year I can truly say that embolisation has saved my life as long as that may last. I have written a blog about my experiences from initial diagnosis to date at 1liver1life/wordpress.com which your husband will identify with various bits of it. I write from the heart about how I feel at any given time. The pity potty, depression, humour, tears, the wait etc etc.

I hope things get themselves sorted for you and the wait is not too long.
