Hi I have posted before when I was starting my treatment with Harvoni in June . At that time my Fibroscan result was 12.5 . Have just had another one 8 weeks post treatment and it is 7.6 . I honestly can't believe the improvement . Just waiting for my 12 week blood test to see if I have achieved SVR - absolutely delighted!!

Would love to hear from others who have undergone treatment recently

Hi Pmw88, Sounds like we had treatments around same times. I did Harvoni June thru Aug for 12 weeks. Showed no evidence of disease Aug labs. Had mostly 13 on Fibroscan originally in May 2017. (which I was told is borderline f/c) That is a great improvement, I hope mine improves like that. I didn't know you could get one post-treatment. Dr sending me for an upper endoscopy, to make sure there isn't anything going on that may cause varices or other liver related problems. I do have a bunch of gallstones. So that test may be because of that. IDK. Congrats on ending treatment. I too am hoping for "cured" when I have my Nov. labs. Did you have any ultrasounds or upper endo? Just wondering if this is a typical test?

Hi redeyes2 - I did have an ultrasound back in March before the HCV had been diagnosed. They found a fatty liver and 1 large gallstone. I originally thought that all my problems were caused by that . I then saw an amazing heptologist who tested me for everything. I also had a HIDA scan to check my gallbladder was working properly- which it was . I asked for the Fibroscan as really that's my main concern. I had one in August when it was 9.5 and one yesterday when it was 7.6 which obviously was a massive relief. But I have worked really hard on my diet and exercise which I am sure has helped. Good luck with your scans

Pmw88 Hello and thank you for the reply. I go on the 27th for the endoscopy. I have been having what I call "attacks" of my gallstone/liver not sure but that area in general. They happen every now and then and sometimes feel like severe hunger pain and other times feels like a flipping sensation. Pains come and last about 6-8 hours. Did not have this before the meds. Had it off and all weekend. Never had it this long off and on. If it continues or gets more severe I will go to emergency. I will ask for the extra scan, so I can see if improved. Thank you and good luck with your continued health improvements. Thank you.

Hi There ,

I have just been diagnosed as having hep C though no idea how long I’ve had it , I’m in reasonable good health and I’ve probably drunk more than I should over the years. I’ve just had the fibroscan and my reading was 12.8 , I should begin treatment for the hep in next week or 2 , will having the treatment help reduce the fibro Reading as to be honest I’m really worried about it all .

Wish you all the very best

Mike
