My husband had one fitted very recently. It's extraordinarily efficient.

My husband has severe ascites and it looks ideal however we have some reservations as it has not been given go ahead via Nice other than for trials/ research. We are currently considering funding it ourselves. My husband is 69 and was first diagnosed with cirrhosis in 2007. He also has pbc. He had a Tips fitted in 2015 but unfortunately this seems to have made ascites worse. Can I ask what hospital your husband had it fitted and whether you had it fitted via NHS or. Privately? Thanks.

Hi jo. We self funded. It is amazing and sends data to central bank. This alerts them to any issues then they contact the doctors to address.

Sadly my husband is suffering from other complications which I won't go into here but suffice to say, the pump still pumping and doing its job.

Good luck jo. It CAN be a life enhancer. X
