I feel lost and not sure where to go now.
I had two blood tests for my liver function, my cholesterol, Triglycerides and Alanine transferase all came high. Before having these blood tests I had an ultrasound of my abdomen and it was stated I needed to see the GP after getting the results.
This is what the ultrasound stated I am not sure what it all means however as no one not even the GP explained it so any advice would be much appreciated –
“ Limited views of the liver were obtained intercostally due to overlying bowel gas. Where visualised the liver was of normal size, shape and echotexture. Parenchyma was increased in echogenicity consistent with fatty infiltration. A 17x11x15mm hypoechoic irregular focal area is noted within the liver, adjacent to the gallbladder. Appearances are suggestive of focal fatty sparing”
Following this I was sent for a CT scan. I got the results today and these came back normal. Now I am unsure of what to do. I am not sure if there is a problem or not. I do have a lot of pain around my liver area which I have had discomfort from for a while now, also I cough up blood stained mucus on a daily basis. Exercise is the real struggle as I bloat at the top of my abdomen really badly and become very breathless so exercising is really hard work. And no matter how much I exercise I never see any real results and I have gone off my food a great deal lately.
I just wanted to know if anyone else has had the same kind of thing and what you did and if it is worth me going to my GP regarding this?
