Went back to the hospital for a chat with my Doctor. She said although my fibrescan result was the worse she'd ever seen my varracies are under control and my blood test shows my liver is working amazingly well. she's booked me in for a mri scan for an in depth look at the scaring. She had two students in the room and she said when I was in hospital she didn't think I'd make it. She said she's amazed how well I've turned my life around and I'm seriously lucky to be as healthy as I am. Bad news is another fibrescan in 6 months and if my score is the same she'll put me on a transplant list. She said my life expectancy has been decreased by 10-20 years due to the damage done. I'm also at high risk of cancer and other complications.
So I'm in a more positive mood but still living my life day by day. From the amount I drank I'm very lucky to have this second chance.

Good luck. I think that we have to hold onto the positive outcomes from the discussions.. I know it is easier said than done, but do not even think about the fibroscan in 6 months time until you get the results. Keep in touch via these pages
The Fibroscan measures a 4cm by 1cm part of the liver, its a large piece but there is a chance that the bit measured is worse than other parts of your liver, bloods dont lie, your getting liver function from somewhere, they are doing an MRI to find out why because a Fibroscan is usually very acurate.
